Eskanders Betstar Announced as BRW Fast 100 Company
Last night, corporate bookmaking firm Eskander's Betstar were announced as a BRW Fast 100 company for 2009. The BRW Fast 100 ranks companies with up to 200 staff according to their average annual turnover growth over three years.
Founded in 2006, by father and son bookmakers Alan and Michael Eskander, Betstar has rapidly grown to become a major player in the Australian online bookmaking scene and has gained a reputation as a vibrant, innovative betting firm who pride themselves on the exceptional and personable service they offer their growing customer base.
Upon accepting the prestigious award on the eve of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Betstar's Managing Director, Alan Eskander attributed his company's success to good old fashioned customer service.
"The bookmaking industry is highly competitive so you need to look after your members, we often get feedback that dealing with Betstar is like dealing with a good mate which is a stark contrast to the 'next please' service offered by some of our competitors.
"Our employee levels and budgets aren't as big as our main competitors so I think we can put our success down to our competitive products and the friendly and effective way we interact with our members," Eskander said.
Betstar offers customers a choice of phone or internet betting along with access to sporting news, tongue in cheek commentary and exclusive competitions and promotions.
Between Michael and Alan there is a combined 40 years of bookmaking experience on racing and sports across Australia.
Michael Eskander has been in the bookmaking game for 25 years, fielding on the Melbourne Rails and more recently on the Sydney Rails. He immigrated to Australia from Egypt in 1966 and worked in a number of industries before setting his sights on bookmaking. Since being granted his licence in 1984 he has become one of Australia's most prominent and well respected bookmakers.
Alan Eskander, son of Michael, was educated at Trinity Grammar Kew and later achieved a bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics. Alan received his first bookmaker’s license in 1997 and started fielding at country race tracks, three years later Alan was granted his Metropolitan rails license.
Betstar customers receive up to the minute markets and competitive odds on a huge range of national and international sports; including aussie rules, rugby league, rugby union, soccer, golf, tennis, cycling, netball, motor sports and baseball. Betstar also offers live betting in the run on a number of different sporting events.
"Whether they are pulling on the boots, cheering their team home at the G or watching a big game with a group of mates, Australians love their sport.
"Betstar encapsulates the Australian way of life and allows sports fans to back themselves and put their money where their mouth is," says Eskander
Betstar offers an exciting and innovative range of bet types and dividend options and are renowned for offering massive feature doubles - the most well known being the Caulfield Cup-Melbourne Cup double.
